Disruptor technology®: filter media, performance & ranges
Disruptor filter media®
Disruptor filter media® is made up of a tangle of AlO(OH) boehmite fibers mixed with zeolite, a volcanic rock treated with Agion silver®.
Unlike other carbon filters treated with silver nanoparticles released into the water, Agion silver® is 100 times larger than a nanoparticle. It is retained in the zeolite filter or, depending on the filter size, on the outside of the carbon block, and is not available in its free form.
This unique combination, arranged between two accordion-pleated wefts to increase the filtration surface area, ensures efficient filtration without altering the structure of the filter in contact with the water.
With an average particle size of 1.5 microns and the ability to retain viruses down to 0.05 microns and bacteria down to 0.5 microns thanks to electro-adsorption, Disruptor® offers water purification that's both effective and safe.
Filtration performance

While maintaining a mineral balance, Disruptor® technology filters out :
- 99.99999% bacteria (E. coli, B. diminuta, pseudomonas, legionella, klebsiella terrigena,...)
- > 99.99 % viruses (polio, rotavirus, norovirus, hepatitis A, etc.)
- > 99.9999% MS2 virus (size 0.027 µm)
- > 99.95% endotoxin (concentration 235 EU/ml)
- > 99.9999% dextrose (5%)
- > 99.9% efficiency at 0.2 µm (latex spheres)

Durability, safety & taste
In addition to outstanding filtration performance, Disruptor® offers energy savings and exceptional durability.
With high flow rates and minimal pressure drops, this technology reduces energy consumption while guaranteeing a long service life, covering thousands of fillings.
Disruptor® is also synonymous with safety and taste. By effectively removing contaminants while preserving minerals, it ensures clean, healthy water that complies with NSF/ANSI 42 standards.
(NSF/ANSI 42 and 61 certified and UPC certified by IAPMO (Drinking Water System Components-Health Effects), USP Class VI testing and endotoxin testing).
Applications
Versatile and environmentally-friendly, the Disruptor® filter can be used in a variety of environments: daily use, residential, professional or hiking.
It can be used in a nomadic version (water bottle), after sediment filtration, or upstream of reverse osmosis filtration to extend membrane life.
Pressure loss
Manometric filtration, with no unnecessary loss of pressure: very low pressure drop: 0.7 bar at nominal flow.
Why such a low pressure drop?
- water does not pass through a tightly packed membrane, but through a very open media
- filtration is achieved by electrostatic forces, not by simple sieving
- the surface area and porosity of the media are very large (pleated surface).
Maximum recommended flow rates
2.5" x 10" (10" standard)
- Nominal flow: 2 gpm ≈ 7.6 L/min
- Maximum flow rate: 5 gpm ≈ 19 L/min
2.5" x 20" (20-inch standard)
- Nominal flow: 4 gpm ≈ 15 L/min
- Maximum flow rate: 10 gpm ≈ 38 L/min
4.5" x 20" (Big Blue)
Max. flow: ~45 L/min
