Big Blue 20" filter housing & High-Performance cartridges
High-flow filtration for mains water, rainwater or boreholes
The Big Blue 20" (4.5") system is designed for installations requiring high flow rates and high retention capacity. Ideal for general pre-filtration, UV protection or upstream of an osmosis unit.
Scalable, secure filtration
The Big Blue 20" system offers a robust, scalable filtration platform. It protects your equipment, improves the sanitary and chemical quality of your water, and can be a strategic step before full potabilization.
The architecture is simple, mechanical, reliable and built to last.
Modular configuration
The Big Blue 20" system can be combined in a number of ways:
- Mechanical protection only
- Protection + chlorine reduction
- Protection + microbiological purification
- Complete advanced filtration (sediment + carbon + Disruptor®)
Suitable for :
- Municipal water
- Rainwater
- Borehole water
- Reverse osmosis pre-treatment
- UV protection
20" filter holder
- Opaque polypropylene body
- HFPP head
- Flow rate up to 9 m³/h
- Max. pressure: 6.9 bar
- Max. temperature: 40 °C
- Ø 184 mm - H 595 mm
Available cartridges
Big Blue 20" sediment cartridges use a polypropylene structure with graduated density. Filtration takes place from the outside in, increasing retention capacity while limiting pressure drop.
Sediment 50 µ - Ref BB 20X4,5
Retains sand, sludge and rust. Graduated density structure. Average life: 1 year*.
Sediment 20 µ
Intermediate filtration, protects fine stages.
Sediment 5 µ
Fine filtration before carbon or microbiology.
Disruptor® Bacteria/Viruses - Ref AD20-4,5
Inspired by the water recycling systems of the ISS Space Station.
- Electroadsorptive technology from ISS recycling systems
- Retains viruses (0.05 µ), bacteria (0.5 µ), cysts, endotoxins
- Active surface area: 55,600 m²
- NSF/ANSI 42 & 61 certified
* depending on water quality and volume.
Average performance for domestic use: approx. 1000 m³ with mains water.
To avoid premature clogging, we recommend combining Disruptor® with an upstream sediment filter, or an activated carbon filter if required.
Maintenance
- Sediment cartridges: 1 year on average
- Activated carbon block: 90,000 L or 1 year
- Disruptor®: depending on water quality and pre-filtration
- Always check inlet water quality to optimize service life.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Big Blue 20" suitable for the whole house?
Yes, it's designed for high flow rates and protects the entire domestic network.
Which fineness should I choose: 50, 20 or 5 microns?
50 µ for loaded water, 20 µ for intermediate water, 5 µ for fine protection before carbon or Disruptor®.
Does Disruptor® replace UV?
Yes, the Disruptor® can replace UV in certain domestic configurations when the objective is microbiological filtration without the need for lamps or electrical maintenance.
No, UV and Disruptor® are not identical: UV inactivates, Disruptor® retains. In a safe approach, they can be complementary.
