It's the result of a social enterprise convinced that drinking water should be accessible to everyone in the world. The Faircap filter was born as an open collaboration project, and as at Osmodyn their vision is to develop low-cost open source technologies that seek to solve pressing environmental and social problems.
To find out how it works:
The membrane filter consists of activated carbon and a fabric of very fine pores (1.2-1.5 microns) through which water is drawn.
For filtration purposes, if we classify organisms by size, viruses are the smallest 0.05 microns, bacteria 0.5 microns and protozoa 5 microns.
Now, why and how are viruses and bacteria filtered when they are smaller than the pore opening?
It's because this filter technology uses a highly innovative technology. It's called electrostatic adsorption. The structure of the filter fabric produces a positive charge, and viruses and bacteria are attracted (adsorbed) because they have a negative charge. (+ and - attract).
Step 1
Rinse your new filter before first use.
Insert the filter and its flexible support into the neck of the isothermal bottle, or into the sports cap using the flexible straw, so that the filter sinks to the bottom of the bottle.
Step 2
Fill your Osmodyn isothermal bottle, wide-mouth PET bottle or water bottle sold outside Europe.
Step 3
Aspirate the water through the nipple.
No more filtering when the product has reached its shelf-life
